Organizing Your Wedding Flowers
Planning for a wedding takes a lot of time and patience. The most important thing you can do to keep your sanity is to organize all parts of it. Break it down into small pieces that you can easily organize to make sure that your special day goes as planned.
The best thing you can do regarding your flowers is to get them organized as well. Here are the five main categories for flowers that are needed for a wedding. By simply thinking with these categories you’ll be able to handle your flower preparations easily.
1. The ceremony and reception
Are you going to be setting up flowers at the main entrance to both the church and the hall? At the church you may want to have something set up at the entrance, at the altar and at the ends of the pew. Your reception hall will need some thought in regards to what flowers you’d like to see at the head table, on the guest tables and on the cake table.
2. Parents
The mothers and fathers may want to wear a corsage or a buttonhole. You’ll have to find out what they are planning to wear to coordinate these flowers for them.
3. The wedding party
All of the members of the wedding party will require flowers. You’ll want to decide on the bouquets for the maid of honor, bridesmaids and flower girl and for the men you’ll want to arrange the buttonholes for the groom, the best man and the ushers.
At this point you’ll also have to find out if anyone is allergic to flowers and what kinds. If there are any severe allergies present you may want to think of using silk flowers. Although you may not have considered silk flowers as an option before, they work well when any allergies are present.
4. Flowers for the hair
Have you decided yet whether you’d like the girls in your wedding party to wear flower hair ornaments? If so, you’ll also have to think about matching the bouquets to these hair accessories.
5. Last but not least…
The bride. This is the most important bouquet of flowers of them all and one that deserves special thought. This is the bouquet that is going to appear in a lot of the wedding photographs and will be tossed to one lucky lady at the end of the night.
If you use this list of categories to arrange your flowers you’ll find that the whole process will suddenly become simplified.
